Why? Russia is not that good? Nobody said that Russia and Putin were bad on this website!

To apply to Canada's immigration programme, the first thing you need to do is scour www.cic.gc.ca - it's not a user-friendly website but it's all they've got. The basic concept for skilled workers such as yourself if that you need to find a job in Canada in your field while you are abroad (in either Russia or in Canada). You need to apply and, if you're accepted, then you start the work visa process from there. It's possible to get a work visa without getting a job in Canada first, but it's much more difficult. And lonelier :) Look at online job classified ads on Canadian websites. Canada's immigration system (for work visas) works on a point system - speaking English at a certain level (might want to take TOEFL) is worth many points, as is being a mechanical engineer. You might have a good chance of being accepted. The important thing is to follow the instructions on the website I've just mentioned to the letter - it's long and annoying but the only way to do it. I can't say anything about Moscow but the Canadian consulate in Ankara is highly unhelpful. Phoning them for advice will get you nowhere - you'll just hear a recording telling you to go to that website. Istanbul is filled with companies that will take $1000 from you to fill out the forms but not guarantee any results. They are mostly scams - be very, very careful before using any of them. Again I don't know about Moscow. Kolay gelsin :)

first of all: do you know russian? because it would really help -for starters write to every software company you can find on the internet. i don't think there is any other way, except you have connections.

lol you don't want to work there. Life in Russia is low quality. Even with a university degree, most students earn about $200 to $300 per month.
3 :
1) you HAVE to speak Russian 2) OR to work in a multinational company back home if 1) is true then www.hh.ru www.expat.ru if 2) is true, then ask your bosses to send you to Russia at the EXPAT terms - this is THE best chance you can ever have p.s. the starting salary in Moscow is definitely not $200-300 but I'd say $800-$1,500 per month for an expat - times higher

Have you ever thought of becoming a physician? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physician .
5 :
First, learn Russian. At the same time, move your career into a major multinational corporation that works in both your country and in Russia. If you know Russian, and are fairly good at what you do, you should be able to a get transfer to operations in Russia. Once you’ve worked in Russia under the umbrella of the multinational for a couple years, you should have the life skills necessary to better shop around the Russian job market.
6 :
Learn to speak Russian or teach English in Russia and learn the language as you teach. But you really do need some background knowledge. Once you have this you could apply for whatever you want.

Here in Italy there are very few jobs that you wouldn't commonly find in other countries. One exception would be gondolier which is specific to Venice.
