Will my hair straightener work in Russia

Will my hair straightener work in Russia?
Okay, so I'm going to Russia in a few days. I am going to take my Remington hair straightener with me. I am aware that Asia/Europe has 110V. I do not have the box it came in, so I read the small print on my hair str. and it says 120V - 240V ~ 60/50Hz What does that mean? Also, what plug adapter do I need to buy? I am confused. Please help!

Will my 100-240v adapter that comes with my laptop work in Russia

Will my 100-240v adapter that comes with my laptop work in Russia?
Their voltage is 220...I'm not sure if I just need a plug adapter or a converter too. Since my laptop adaptor says 100-240v, it should be fine, right?

When traveling to foreign countries you should buy a travel A/C converter adapter kit to protect all of your electrical appliances including electronics/lap top. http://frys.com/

Yes, it will work. I pesonally know people who came to Russia with laptop and it worked perfectly. I also checked, all my electronic devices have 100-240 V too. But Russia has European standard power points. Remember it and buy converter in USA (if you are from USA).

Secure Computer system for travel/work in Russia.

Secure Computer system for travel/work in Russia.?
I am taking a job in Russia and have been told that spies will most likely enter my apartment while I'm at work and hack/download my lap top's hard drive. However, if I have a removable hard drive, I can secure it at work. Can you recommend a system that: 1) Has a removable hard drive & 2) When the hard drive is removed, there is no way to discover any information on the machine? Thanks

Just get a POWERFUL anti-virus program.Get the Mcafee Trial.Or Avg Trial.Don't get Avast or Avira, both suck.
2 :
buy a laptop have the drive taken out buy a portable drive that you can configure an o/s on and take it to work with you

All laptops have removable hard drives. You simply need a screw driver, that's it. Watch just the first minute of this video. It will give you an idea of how easily it can be removed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNxBiIWBXUM

There are several approaches. My preferred approach is as follows: 1: Get whatever laptop you want and encrypt the whole disk with PGP whole disk encryption. 2: Get a USB portable drive, a terabyte will easily fit in your shirt pocket. Whole disk encrypt this also. 3: Load your applications on the main drive and your user files on the USB portable drive. 4: Use something like Windows washer to always wipe your temporary files on your laptop. 5:Your biggest risk of hack is while on line. Get the personal VPN below to encrypt your entire internet connection back to the USA or Europe. Nothing will be visible on any Russian network. This should do it for you.

If you're in a position that attracts that much attention from 'investigation' sources, then merely taking whatever countermeasures you can on the computer itself will probably not help. Hidden cameras, microphones and a hatfull of other spying methods will render your security merely an inconvenience. Take a laptop and carry it with you.

In Soviet Russia, games play you!

I'm not sure, but you can always buy plug adapters just in case. Try to google what plugs look like in India. If they're the same as in Russia, then there should be a problem =].
