We'll never know, neither candidate is proposing a socialist nation. Try reading a history book. Or a dictionary at the very least.

Who's proposing that? I've heard Republicans talk about it a lot, but I don't believe McCain will be winning this time around.

I don't of any candidate that is actually bringing about socialism in this election so I don't know where this question is coming from. Socialism can work in just about any country...just like democracy, communism, etc. You just have to be free to operate and not get involved in unnecessary wars that drain your resources, fracture your populace and foster a loss of confidence in the government.

You really should not show your ignorance, Russia was communist and Nazi Germany was fascist. Many European countries have had socialist governments and these have led to free health care a decent minimum wage and social welfare systems. Barack Obama is a long way from being a socialist as you would know if you understood what the term meant. I suggest you spend more time educating yourself and less asking questions which only show your dismal lack of knowledge of the English language. Comment: Yes it was called national socialist party but it had nothing in common with socialist principles or ideals. He also called concentration camps "work camps".

Not in full. We already have many socialized programs in America as we speak. Some are good - firefighters, police, welfare, etc. But for the most part they are corrupt (excluding firefights). All seem to be ran by government agencies with secrete agendas. Unfortunate once they are instituted it is virtually impossible to get rid of. FDR implemented most of the socialized programs we currently have in place, causing the great depression to last much longer than it needed to. It took WWII to get us out of the depression. Obama is not going to turn this country in a Socialist Country but he will implement new socialized programs which will irreversible. He also wants the redistribution of wealth which is extremely socialistic. If he were to socialize health care like every one thinks he is going to do would be one thing but all he wants to do is force your employer who probably cannot afford it to pay for you. If you do not have it then you can pay for it yourself. This is not Health care this is forcing Health Insurance upon those who do not have it. What he will do is harm the economy but most do not see it as such and view the "rich" with an endless supply of money that never ends.
