Start by looking for available jobs at http://www.careercenter.ru/. How is your Russian? Your ability to drive, navigate public transportation, shop in supermarkets, etc, will be heavily influenced by being able to understand Cyrillic signs and speak the language. Most jobs, outside of being an Embassy guard, require skills in Russian language. Being in the military as you are, perhaps you can get some language training if you don't have it already. Russia has new Visa rules for foreigners, you may live in Russia only 180 days annually, no more than 90 days consecutively.
